About Me
When it comes to novels, I’m a slow reader. Let me explain what that means to me as a UX designer. It takes me extra time to get through each sentence and paragraph because I go back and deconstruct it. I look to see why the author structured it the way they did, why they used a particular word, in what ways do the words evoke an emotional response or just carry us to the next. I’ve always loved consuming literature in this way. The examination of “Juliet is the sun” speaks to how I can relate this practice to UX design. A phrase that is so simple can do so much to evoke an emotional response, impart deep understanding, relate universally to the reader is also something we can achieve in designing experiences that are enjoyable, useful, and engaging.
I have eight years experience in building SaaS applications through discovery, design, and development. I’m passionate about creating projects from ideas on scraps of paper to elegant and maintainable products and services. I’ve worked as a designer, developer, and leader of a small team in a start up from its earliest days to successful acquisition. I’ve contributed to and managed projects in an Agile environment. I’ve had the opportunity to work within existing frameworks as well as create custom software from scratch.
